South Bend Education Foundation
of Matching Funds Remaining
Your gifts to the South Bend Education Foundation make an impact on over 18,000 students, and hundreds of teachers and staff. Your meaningful gift funds programs for Character Education and Singapore Math that shape our children into empathetic, bright and supported citizens. The above programs continue to show results, and our recent collaboration with N.D. students has partnered us with school districts that are having success with the same programs. In KY for example, the Singapore Math has been taught for seven years, and the results show what we do - Singapore Math is leading to higher graduation rates. Character Education is leading to a large reduction in discipline issues. To-date, 342 teachers have received professional development in Character Education, with 320 teacher receiving professional development in Singapore Math. This is not possible without your gifts.
We greatly appreciate your sustainability gifts for operating and we are using a portion of the donations to grow the sustainability of the important Mentor & Teacher Grant Programs that make a difference for the children of our community forever. We will also use the funds to increase the professional development in Singapore Math and Character Education programs. Your gifts to the South Bend Education Foundation make a BIG impact on over 18,000 students, and hundreds of teachers and staff and will be used for Mentoring, Character Education and Singapore Math. Your gift will help to fund programs that shape our children into empathetic, bright and supported citizens.
We wish to thank our community for the additional revenue that this drive will generate. These gifts make it possible for the South Bend Education Foundation to grow our outreach and support more children, teachers, and parents/guardians with additional programs. For example, our Foundation now has the Mentoring program under our umbrella. Growing our outreach is only possible as we work to make certain that we have a clear plan for sustainability. We do not take on a program that we cannot sustain, and the revenue that is generated from the funds is used for Teacher Grants currently. We have given a total of 319 Teacher Grants for $364,000 to-date. One of our goals that we have begun is a Teacher Grant Endowment to sustain the Teacher Grant Program in perpetuity. We have also planned for endowing the Mentor Program over time. Thank you for helping to grow the sustainability of our programs.
