Only 20% of our operating support comes from ticket revenue. Ensure the legacy of live symphonic music right here in our community, please donate today!
As Michiana’s premier professional orchestra, the South Bend Symphony's mission is to engage the community in the exploration of orchestral music in all its forms, with a vision to broaden the personal experiences of a diverse audience. In 2016, the SBSO presented 64 FREE Symphony-to-Go ensemble performances in venues across the community, 4 Young People's Discovery Concerts, 18 orchestral Masterworks, Pops, and Chamber Series concerts, 2 Home for the Holidays performances, a free outdoor community concert, and the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration concert. During the summer, high school students had the opportunity to participate in the annual Donald A, Dake Summer Chamber Music Academy, instructed by SBSO musicians. More than 25,000 people were served during 2016 including 10,600 area students.
